Psion Partner von Purple Software und DSR, um WAP auf den Psion zu bringen

Psion Computer, die Firma für das mobile Internet, hat die neuesten WAP-Browser Technologien von Purple Software und Digital Systems Research (DSR) lizensiert. Ab Mai dieses Jahres werden die Kunden von Psion Vorteil aus dem schnellen drahtlosen Zugang zu ausgewählten Informationen von Kerndaten auf firmeneigenen Intranets bis zu persönlichen Daten, wie Börsenkursen, Kinobuchungen, Schlagzeilen und Sportergebnissen nutzen können.
Purple Software ist eine der führenden europäischen Softwareschmieden für Anwendungen und Dienste für drahtlose Anwendungen. DSR ist die führende Firma im Bereich von WAP Technologien. Julian Swallow, der CEO von Purple Software, sagte, daß die vollwertige Browsertechnik für die Benutzung auf Communicatoren basierend auf der Symbian-Plattform entworfen wurde, und würdigte die Schlüsselrollem die DSR in der Entwicklung gespielt hatte: "Dynamical Systems Research is one of the few company's in the world that designs first-class low level WAP technology. The WAP browser will be the first release in a series of wireless technology developments resulting from a close working relationship between our two companies."
Dr. Janko Mrsic-Flögel, Leitender Direktor von DSR, kommentierte: "Our partnership with Purple will result initially in the incorporation of our WAP communications technology into an intuitive user experience for owners of Symbian powered devices. We are delighted that the first iteration of the EPOC product will be distributed by such an important licensee as Psion."
Helen Blackburn, Product Marketing Manager von Psion Internet sagte: "We want to provide the customer with as much choice as possible. Because Psion products have a larger screen area and better user interface than WAP mobile phones, we believe that we can deliver a richer experience to the customer. This is of tremendous benefit to corporate customers who are currently developing WAP applications for their mobile workers but need a more capable mobile device for accessing their information."
